<p>PURPOSE:To produce an oxidation catalyst which has a high activity of Pd and a high bonding strength enough to prevent an exfoliation by forming an intermediate layer of a complex oxide such as PdAlO-type and by supporting active components such as Pd etc. by using an irradiation spray method. CONSTITUTION:A layer of a complex oxide such as PdAlO-type or PdSiO-type is formed as an intermediate layer on a surface of a supporting matter made of Pt, Pt alloy or Pt alloy strengthened with dispersed oxide. Pd, PdO or their mixture is supported on the intermediate layer by using an irradiation spray method. An oxidation catalyst which has a very high activity and a high bonding strength enough to prevent the active components, Pd and PdO, from an exfoliation, is thus produced, because the active components, Pd and PdO, are homogeneously dispersed in a form of ultrafine particles.</p> |
