<p>In a beaming machine (1) having press rollers (13a, 13b) for smoothing and compacting the package (7), a press device (8) for generating different pressing forces for the winding of a beam is provided. The press device (8) is controlled by the different operating modes of the beaming machine (1) and assigns a very low pressing force to the standstill of the machine, to crawling speed and to the response of a safety device (19, 18a, 18b, 18c), so that the risk of accidents to the operating personnel is greatly reduced. <IMAGE></p> |
