PURPOSE: To obtain a chewing gum product having improved stability by preparing a compsn. contg. a sweetener derived from L-aspartic acid and a compsn. contg. a flavor and interposing a barrier layer impermeable to the flavor and/or water between the compsns. CONSTITUTION: A compsn. (A) contg. a gum base and a sweetener derived from L-aspartic acid, preferably a free sweetener and a compsn. (B) contg. a gum base, a flavor and about <5wt.% water based on the amt. of the compsn. B are prepd. and a protective barrier layer preventing the contact of the sweetener in the compsn. A with the flavor in the compsn. B is interposed between the compsns. A, B to obtain the objective stabilized chewing gum product. The compsns. are preferably coextruded on both sides of the barrier layer. |
