The skin removing machine has drum shaped rotor (1) with holes (2) in its wall. A rotatable cylinder (3) is eccentrically and adjustably provided in the rotor and has tooth shape projections around its circumference co-operating with the holes. These project over a length (L) of the rotor circumference and work against the underside (17) of an adjustably slidable dividing element (5). A pedal operated drive motor (6) is provided to drive the cylinder which inturn entrains the rotor. The toothed cylinder is lowered into a rigid frame (9) and the rotor is provided in sliding supports (12) in the frame. The openings or holes in thr rotor comprise V-shaped grooves while the intermediate wall segments have a trapezium cross section.
