<p>PURPOSE:To stably maintain arc discharge and to regularly execute melting of electrodes by generating arc between two electrodes having different materials and molten metal in a mold and arranging a coil for generating magnetic field surrounding the arc. CONSTITUTION:The consumable electrode 35 of Ti, etc., and the consumable electrode 36 of Nb, etc., are arranged above the mold 31 as inclining state. At the time of supplying the power from the DC power sources 39, 40 between the electrodes 35, 36 and the arc starting plate 34, the arc is formed. By the arc, the lower ends of the electrodes 35, 36 are melted, and the molten metal is cast in the mold 31. According to consumption of the electrodes 35, 36, the electrodes 35, 36 are driven downward. The coil 50 for generating the magnetic field, so as to surround the upper part 42 of the mold 31, and by giving the arc pinch effect, the arc is made so as not to widen to outside with centripetal force. The molten metal in the mold 31 is solidified while stirring by the magnetic field generating from the coil 45 and the ingot of Nb-Ti, etc., is cast.</p> |
