PURPOSE: To prevent the corrosion of an electrode and improve the reliability in the IC operation by coating a peripheral edge of the electrode and an external exposed face at the electrode side of a substrate with a corrosion inhibitor. CONSTITUTION: A corrosion inhibitor 11 composed of an epoxy resin, is kept into contact with a part of the surfaces of electrodes 5, adhered to a substrate 1 in such manner that it faces between the electrodes 5, and covers a peripheral edge of the electrodes 5 on the substrate 1, and an external exposed face at the electrode side. A module IC for the card having the above-mentioned structure, can inhibit the formation of a battery caused by the reaction of the corrosive element (CuCl2 , NiCl2 or the like) and the substrate, by the corrosion inhibitor 11. Accordingly the corrosion of the electrodes 5 can be prevented even when the moisture is attached to a neighborhood of the electrodes 5. |
