PURPOSE:To decrease the insertion loss in a branch part by joining an optical fiber for a branch path to an optical fiber for a main path in such a manner that the incident light on the main fiber aligns to the optical axis of the optical fiber for the branch path when said light is reflected by an interference filter. CONSTITUTION:Both the optical fiber 4 for the main path and the optical fiber 14 for the branch path are formed with polished surfaces 4b', 14b' on clads 4b, 14b and the surfaces 4b', 14b' are joined in tight contact with each other. The interference filter 8 on the substrate 1 side for the main path and the interference filter 18 on the substrate 11 side for the branch path are adjusted in position along the optical axes of the optical fibers 4, 14 in such a manner that the light signal incident from, for example, the port A of the optical fiber 14 for the main path is propagated to the port C of the optical fiber 14 for the branch path when said signal is reflected successively by the filters 8, 18. The production of the multi-cored parts applicable to the multi-cored optical fibers by the simple stage with good accuracy is thereby enabled. |
