COMPOSITE TYPE OPTICAL FIBER

摘要

PURPOSE:To enable the input and output to and from side faces and the selective transmission of light with an optical fiber which propagates plural light rays of different wavelengths by linearly coupling the optical fiber and at least one kind of fluorescent fiber, thereby constituting the titled fiber. CONSTITUTION:The optical fiber which propagates the plural light rays or the respectively different wavelengths is constituted by linearly coupling the optical fiber 1 and at least one kind of the fluorescent fiber 2. Not only the input and output of information to and from the end face but also the input and output of the information to and from the side faces of the optical fiber 1 are enabled by interposing the fluorescent fiber 2. The light corresponding to PBout is absorbed in the fluorescent fiber and the light corresponding to PA is outputted from the end face of the fluorescent fiber 2 when two beams of the light corresponding to PAout and PBout are inputted to the fiber from the other end of the fluorescent fiber 2. The optical fiber which is capable of allowing not only the input and output of the information to and from the end face but also the input and output of the information to and from the side face and the selective transmission to selectively transmit the light of the specific wavelength is thereby obtd.
