The box (1) used has pref. a parallelepiped shape, and has an openable front hatch (2) which is lockable. Inside, the box has compartments (3) each of which can contain a video cassette, and at the side of each is an indicatory light diode (5). The diode illuminates immediately after a cassette is removed from a compartment, but extinguishes again after a couple of minutes. The removal of a cassette is also stored in a memory to which information is transmitted electronically This permits a distributor to press a switch (6) located on the top of compartments, thus causing the light diode appertaining to the compartment from which a cassette has been withdrawn to illuminate temporarily. A lock and key (7) combination is used by the cassette distributor to reset the memory function when loading the box prior to sending it to a hiring entity. The box has a hand grip (9) for carrying purposes. |
