A sealed accumulator in which the gases are absorbed by the electrodes has one electrode 10 in the form of a mass, which may be of sintered metal, and is formed with cavities 11 to receive the other eectrode 12 from which a conductor 13 extends to the exterior of the container to form the terminal 14. The container is of metal and is in contact with the electrode 10 and provided with a terminal 22. A duct 15 may connect the spaces 16, 17 so that in the event of excessive gas pressure in the cavities 11 electrolyte is forced out of the cavities into the space 17. The duct 15 may be connected to a funnel 20 to facilitate the return of electrolyte from the space 17 to the bottom of the accumulator. Specification 447,757 is referred to. |
