CALCIUM GREASE COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To provide the titled energy-saving grease composition effective in remarkably reducing viscosity resistance in a bearing and being readily produced, by adding a thickening agent comprising the calcium soap of a fatty acid and a calcium alcoholate to a basic oil such as a mineral oil and then reacting them. CONSTITUTION:(A) A basic oil comprising a mineral oil for synthesized oil is mixed and thoroughly dispersed with (B) the calcium soap of a fatty acid comprising a higher fatty acid such as preferably beef tallow fatty acid or 12-hydroxystearic acid or a combination of said higher fatty acid and an organic acid such as acetic acid, and subsequently mixed with (C) a calcium alcoholate at 80-90 deg.C. Said mixture is heated to 95-100 deg.C under vigorous stirring with a high shearing force, retained for 15-30min and immediately cooled to provide the objective composition. Alcoholic substances by-produced by the reaction are preferably left in the grease.
