PURPOSE: To provide a ring for therapy capable of carrying out regulated release of a therapeutic agent by surrounding a core part formed by extruding a therapeutic agent-containing silicone composition with an outer envelope part comprising a silicone composition, uniting ends and cross-linking the core part and outer packaging part. CONSTITUTION: This ring for therapy is obtained by extruding a first composition comprising a therapeutic agent and a first elastomer-forming silicone composition, forming a core part, extruding a second elastomer-forming silicone composition, forming an outer envelope part surrounding the core part (preferably simultaneously extruding the second elastomer-forming silicone composition with the core part and keeping both in a nearly concentric state), subsequently uniting ends of the resultant extrudate pieces, forming the ring, then successively or simultaneously cross-linking the core part and the outer envelope part. A composition comprising an organopolysiloxane having at least two groups, having an olefinic unsaturation and bonded to silicon, an organosilicon compound having at least two hydrogen atoms bonded to silicon and a platinum compound catalyst is preferred as the first and the second silicone compositions. |
