PURPOSE:To obtain a disinfectant and germicide, containing a blend of natural hinokitiol with beta-dolabrin prepared by extraction from Thujopsis dolabrata var. Hondai Makino as an active ingredient, having high antimicrobial action, wide range of antimicrobial spectrum and low toxicity and useful for living bodies and various tools. CONSTITUTION:A natural disinfectant and germicide obtained by containing a blend of natural hinokitiol expressed by formula I with beta-dolabrin expressed by formula II obtained by subjecting waste Thujopsis dolabrata var. Hondai Makino which is a product of AOMORI Prefecture to steam distillation and treating the resultant distillate as an active ingredient. The above-mentioned disinfectant and germicide is lightly usable without problems of environmental pollution and capable of exhibiting great disinfectant and germicidal effects in a small amount and available from inexpensive naturally occurring substances at a low cost. Furthermore, great effects are obtained simply by dissolving crystals thereof in water, etc., and merchandising can be readily carried out at a low cost. Disinfecting and sterilizing of bacteria, molds, etc., can be prac ticed by a simple product, producing great effects on aspects of economics and readiness for users. |
