MANUFACTURE OF CYLINDRICAL BODY

PURPOSE:To continuously form a deposited cylindrical body by pressing and abutting the inside and outside edges in opposition of a cylindrical preform on a guide bar and welding an overlap part by projecting a laser beam thereon and afterward, pressing and depositing the same and performing the joining without the generation of hole and deterioration of corrosion resistance. CONSTITUTION:The edge parts 6a and 6b of the cylindrical preform 6 sent in by a finger 18 of an endless chain 16 are sent in grooves 7 and 8 of a Z- shaped guide part 2 of the guide bar 1 and abut on an upper body 3a of a guide part 3 and a lower body 3b supported by a mandrel. These abutted parts are welded by projecting 22 the laser beam thereon. Continuously, the molten overlap part is pressed and joined by an inside roll 27 and an outside roll 28 supported by the mandrel. The cylindrical preform 6 formed to the prescribed diameter by a guide rod 14 is deposited without the generation of hole and deteriorating of the corrosion resistance and the satisfactory cylindrical body can be continuously formed.
