The invention relates to a device for conditioning room air. The unit consists of a plurality of components which are of tubular design. The pressure-stage apparatus provided as basic unit consists of the radial/axial fan for supply air as well as a radial/axial fan for circulation air, which convey the main air current on a common drive shaft with a drive motor. The air distributor provided between the radial/axial fans consists of the double restricting device which is axially displaced by means of a servomotor such that the air openings located in the restricting plate are opened or closed in the axial and radial direction simultaneously in accordance with the air state. The individual construction units for air conditioning are interconnected by means of sleeves and can be easily exchanged. The air-conditioning device can be used in the area of high-speed ventilation on account of the flow-related advantages. The lightweight construction and the design with a simple flow acting in the same direction leads to savings in the building dimensions and to a reduction in weight. The mounting arrangement in any desired position is possible. This results in advantages in the use of the device. There is greater cost-effectiveness of manufacturing and maintenance.
