PURPOSE:To prevent the degradation in reproduced output and to provide a magnetic head having excellent electromagnetic conversion characteristics by providing an insulating characteristic by an oxidation treatment, etc., to the pinhole part of the inter-layer materials for insulation of the magnetic head constituted by interposing the inter-layer materials for insulation between thin magnetic metallic films. CONSTITUTION:This magnetic head is constituted by subjecting two core half bodies 1a, 1b which sandwich a magnetic layer 2 laminated with the thin magnetic metallic films 3 and the inter-layer materials 4 for insulation by ferrite magnetic bodies from both sides to bonding by packing glass 7. The surface is subjected to a plasma treatment by using gaseous oxygen to oxidize the surfaces of the thin magnetic metallic films 3 exposed to the pinhole parts 8 of the inter-layer materials 4 for insulation so that the thin layers 4a consisting of the electrical insulating material and the insulation treated parts 4b are formed at the time of alternately forming the thin magnetic metallic films 3 and the inter-layer materials 4 for insulation on the ferrite base bodies. The degradation in the reproduced output of the magnetic head by the pinholes 8 is thereby prevented. |
