<p>Process and machine for making a flat horizontal pile (or mattress) consisting of layers of a textile material previously stored in the form of a roll (2) containing a long length of this material. According to the invention: the cloth run (1) is supplied from a fixed station (3) and placed without stretching on a table (4) or a support which can be moved below the supply station on either side of the vertical plane passing through the axis of the roll (2) of material (1); the cloth run (1) is clamped and cut at both ends each time it is placed on the table and as the pile increases in thickness; the movable support (4) is transferred to a cutting or standby station.</p> |
