A hub coupling assembly (Fig 2) arranged to be interposed between a hub 2 and shaft 4 to effect rigid co-axial connection of the hub to the shaft includes slit inner and outer coupling sleeves 6, 8 and first and second wedge rings (10, 12). Bolts 94 pass through bores 90 in one wedge ring 12 to engage with threaded bores 92 in the other wedge ring and to effect engagement of the assembly. Further bolts (not shown) are engageable in threaded bores in one wedge ring to bear against an end face of the other wedge ring to effect dismantling. First and second locating rings 14, 16 are positioned respectively adjacent the end portions of the coupling sleeves to co-act therewith to restrain relative axial movement of the inner coupling sleeve relative to the outer coupling sleeve, both during assembly and during dismantling, and further provide a reaction block for the wedge rings during dismantling. <IMAGE>
