The switching temp. of the first thermostatic switch is adjustable. A timing clock (14) is provided for setting the duration of the boiling down period, which has an electric clock movement (15). The second thermostatic switch (21) designed as a closer, switches the timing clock on depending on the temp. of the pot contents. A main switch (13) is connected to the timing clock movement, and with the switching on of the pot or setting the boiling down time, the current circuit of the electric heater is connected to the current source, and with the switching off of the pot or the expiry of the set boiling down time, the current supply to the heater (11) is interrupted. Each thermostatic switch (19,21,22) has its own heat sensor (19a,21a,22a) and the second thermostatic switch (21) is set at a constant temp., which lies at the lower limit of the temp. range of the first thermostatic switch (19), needed for the boiling down purposes. The switching difference of the second thermostatic switch (21) is greater than that of the first thermostatic switch.
