摘要

PURPOSE:To improve the lubricating performance on the surface of a magnetic layer and to obtain a recording medium having excellent durability by selecting the compounding ratio of isoalumistearate and isoalumipalmitate at 100:1-60:40 with respect to a resin binder dispersed with fine ferromagnetic powder. CONSTITUTION:The total amt. of the isoalumistearate and isoalumipalmitate is selected at 20:80-50:50 by the weight of the resing binder and the compounding ratio of the isoalumistearate and isoalumipalmitate is selected at 100:1-60:40 by weight. A desired effect is not obtainable if the amt. to be added is small and the mechanical strength of the magnetic coated film is degraded and the durability is deteriorated if the amt. is too large. A sufficient lubricating effect is not obtainable if the ratio of the isoalumipalmitate is <=1 and the lubricating agent is liable to evaporate and the desired effect is not obtainable in the case of a high temp. if the ratio exceeds 40. The traveling performance of a tape is improved and the wear of a head is decreased if Al2O3 having 0.1-2mum average grain size is used for the polishing agent to be added at this time.
