A manually operatable axle lifting valve (10) for multi-axle motor vehicles, trailer vehicles and the like has a housing (20) and a shift piston (35). In the housing (20) a control piston (25) is provided, which has an active surface (30), acted upon by the pressure in the control line (16), and is supported on a spring (32). The shift piston (35) is displaceably supported in the control piston (25). The displacement travel of the shift piston (35) is limited by a stop (44), fixed to the housing, on the one hand and the control piston (25) on the other. The shift piston (35) is of pressure-relieved design and the control piston (25) with the shift piston (35) forms an inlet valve (33, 37) and an outlet valve (34, 37) for compressed air into the line (17) leading to the lifting bellows of the lifting axle.
