<p>A tool serves to grip and cut a loop of ribbon (2) placed around an object (17), the ends (3A, 3B) of which are passed through a lock (7) which joins them. One end (3B) of the loop is first connected to a ribbon supply. The tool constitutes a holder (5) for the lock (7), an opening (1) in the lock holder for the passage of the ends (3A, 3B) of the ribbon, a gripping device for the end of the ribbon connected to the ribbon supply, a holder for the free end of the ribbon, and a cutting device (13). The construction of the tool is simplified and the ribbon can be processed without waste, because the holding device comprises a clip (11) which presses one side of the free end (3A) of the ribbon against the other end (3B) of the ribbon supported by an abutment (4) and the cutting device (13) is mounted on the side of the clip (11) opposite the lock holder (5).</p> |
