PURPOSE:To detect the cracking of piping automatically with good accuracy, by constituting the title probe of a sensor unit, an amplifying unit and a connector unit all of which have a spherical shape. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic probe 1 is constituted of a sensor unit 2, an amplifying unit 3 and a connector unit 4 all of which have a spherical shape. When the coupler 19' supplied from a tube 21 is supplied to the coupler supply passage 13 of the unit 2 through a coupler holder 19, a support member 8 moves in an opposite direction against the energizing force of a coil spring 14, and the fulcrum part 8' of the member 8 and the leading end of an ultrasonic probe 10 are brought into contact with the inner surface of piping 30. Herein, the coupler 19' is supplied between the probe 10 and the piping 30 and the ultrasonic wave emitted from the probe 10 is transmitted to the piping 30 and the reflected wave from the piping 30 is received by the probe 10. The received signal enters the amplifier of the unit 3 through a cable 7 to be taken out to the outside through cables 6, 22. When the supply of the coupler is stopped after the finish of measurement, the members 8, 15 are drawn in a main body 9 by the recovery force of the spring 14. |
