PURPOSE:To omit hydration hardening treatment after firing and obtain an extremely tough pottery product, by adding a frit to cement, forming the cement, hardening the formed cement through hydration and sintering the formed cement at a specific temperature. CONSTITUTION:Cement (e.g. portland cement) in an amount of 25-60pts.wt. is kneaded with 10-60pts.wt. frit [obtained by melting a mixture of 116wt.% white lead with 20wt.% limestone, 111wt.% feldspar, 12wt.% zinc flower, 28wt.% silica sand and 21wt.% clay or mixture of 60wt.% silica sand with 22wt.% niter, 7.2wt.% common salt, 3.6wt.% alum, 3.6wt.% soda ash and 3.6wt.% gypsum and pulverizing the resultant melt], 0-40pts.wt. glass powder and 0-40pts. wt. siliceous raw material using water and the obtained kneaded mixture is formed into a formed body, which is then cured at ordinary temperature in air for 1-8 days, hardened through hydration and sintered at 750-1,000 deg.C for 20min-8hr to afford the titled pottery product. |
