<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a voltage nonlinear element having a large nonlinear index in a low current region by hardening powdered semiconductor substances containing MnO2 and Pr6O11 in an insulating coating with glass powders having a low fusion point. CONSTITUTION:MnO2 and Pr6O11 are added to powdered ZnO which are burnt and ground and they are treated with heat in the air and then an insulating coating of oxide is formed at the surfaces of powders. Then they are untied by a mortar and the like and further, glass powders having a low fusion point add organic binders of ethyl cellulose and the like are added as bonding agents and then they become paint-like. Thus the paint-like fine powders are applied on a glass substrate 3 where indium-tin oxide (ITO) electrode 1 is mounted and the glass substrate 4 where the same ITO electrode 2 is mounted is placed on the above substrate and they are hardened in the air. In such a case, the intervals of ZnO powders 6 are hardened one another by the glass powders having a low fusion point and a nonlinear element 5 having a large nonlinear index in a low current region is obtained.</p> |
