PURPOSE:To obtain an optical recording medium having high sensitivity to a near infrared region light, large solubility in solvent, high reflectance, no toxicity, and superior durability, by a method wherein an organic film mainly composed of a specific naphthalocyanine compound is formed on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:An organic film mainly composed of a naphthalocyanine compound shown by a general formula (I) is formed on a substrate. In the formula; substituents Q shown by a formula II may be either the same or different; Z is organic group selected from among -O-, -S-, -SO2-, -NR<4>-, -NR<5>CO-, -COO-, and -SO2NR<6>; R<1> is bivalent organic group such as alkylene; R<2>, R<3> are organic group such as alkyl and alkenyl; R<4>, R<6> represent hydrogen or organic group such as alkyl and alkenyl; M represents hydrogen, metal, metallic oxide, metallic halide, or metallic hydroxide; n1, n2, n3, n4, each representing an integer 0-4 may be either the same or different; SIGMAni=n1+n2+n3+n4 is an integer 2-16; Y represents substituent such as halogen, nitro group, cyano group, and amino group; m1, m2, m3, m4, each representing an integer 0-4 maybe the same or different; and l1+l2+l3+l4 representing an integer 0-2 may be either the same or different. |
