<p>PURPOSE:To make a nonlinear index large in a low current region by making contents of MnO2 and Co2O3 specific ones when a voltage nonlinear element is formed by causing semiconductor substrates of fine particles containing MnO2 and Co2O3 to adhere to an insulating coating with a bonding agent. CONSTITUTION:ZnO powders are burnt and ground and powders of MnO2 and Co2O3 are added to the above powders and are treated by heat in the air to form an insulating coating of oxide. When each content of MnO2 and Co2O3 of the total amount of semiconductor is X and Y, the following expressions are selected: 0.1<=X<=2mol%, 0.1<=Y<=2mol%. Obtained ZnO powders are untied by a mortar and the like and a polyimide resin is mixed as a bonding agent to become paint-like. This substance is applied to a glass substrate 3 where an indium-tin oxide (ITO) electrode 1 is mounted and the glass substrate 4 where the same ITO electrode 2 is mounted is placed on the above substrate 3 and an element 5 is formed. This approach makes a nonlinear index large in a low current region.</p> |
