PURPOSE:To increase the capacity of conveying into and out of a warehouse, by juxtaposing a plurality of racks so that passages for cranes and passages for conveyors are alternately defined between the racks. CONSTITUTION:Racks 1-6, each of which has plural sections in both vertical and horizontal directions, are juxtaposed so that passages of prescribed widths are defined between the racks. Crane rails 7, 10, 13 are laid in the passages between the racks 1, 2, others 3, 4 and still others 5, 6, respectively. Stacker cranes 8, 9, others 11, 12 and still others 14, 15 are moved on the rails. Carry- in/out conveyors 17, 18 ramified from a carry-in conveyor 16 of hung-up type are provided between the racks 2, 3 and others 4, 5, respectively, and connected in confluence to a carry-out conveyor 19 of hung-up type. Chain conveyors 20, 21 for conveying pallets 28 are installed under the carry-in/out conveyors 17, 18 to retrieve the pallets 28 from carry-out transfer units 22-27 to carry-in transfer units 29-34. |
