PURPOSE: To minimize wear and tear of a cylinder liner by providing a lubricant feeding orifice at 5-18% and 20-40% lower location in terms of the piston stroke in relation to the topmost piston ring at the top dead center within the plane perpendicular to the cylinder liner axis. CONSTITUTION: At the location of 5-18% lower and 20-40% lower in terms of the piston stroke from the topmost piston cylinder 3 when the piston is positioned at the top dead center against the axis of the cylinder liner 1 along the plane perpendicular to the axis of the cylinder liner 1, a lubricant feeding orifice 5 and an oil groove 5' on the upper step and a lubricant feeding orifice 6 and an oil groove 6' on the lower step, are provided, respectively. Each of the lubricant feeding orifices 5, 6 are provided in such a manner that the same volume of a lubricant is supplied from independent lubricant feeding sources 7, 8 by way of adjusting means 9, 10.
