PURPOSE:To make an intake of blow-by gas into smoothness by installing a hollow pipelike member for mutually connecting and reinforcing plural bearing caps in the arrangement direction of cylinders, and interconnecting this pipelike member to a crankcase and a blow-by passage. CONSTITUTION:A crankshaft is rotatably supported as each of first to fourth bearing caps 8a-8d is clamped tight from the lower part via a bolt 31. Situating in the underside of these bearing caps 8a-8d, a hollow pipelike member 24 is set up as extending in a cylinder arrangement direction, and it is attached to a connecting plate 10 connecting these bearing caps 8a-8d as one body with one another via a bolt 32 and brackets 27A, 27B. The pipelike member 24, being closed at the front and rear ends, leads blow-by gas into a blow-by gas passage 12 piercing through the inside of a bulkhead 6d via a blow-by gas intake port 29 installed in the underside of a central part in the crankcase. |
