PURPOSE:To properly transmit and receive corresponding to the contents of an image by providing plural transmitting modes. CONSTITUTION:As the transmitting mode, a high-speed mode and a high-density mode are provided except for a standard mode. A calling tone signal CLTN is used also as a signal to indicate the transmitting mode. Further, at the time of sending image data, at a transmitting side, a relay contact point is switched to a contact point at the feeding side of the image data, simultaneously, the calling tone signal CLTN is sent, and a receiving side is compulsorily switched to the receiving mode of the image data. Thus, a proper still picture corresponding to the contents of the image to be transmitted can be normally transmitted and received. |
