PURPOSE:To designate a desired file with a simple operation by displaying an index image showing most satisfactorily for each file. CONSTITUTION:An optical disk device 8 stores a large quantity of document image data; while a magnetic disk device 7 stores the control information on said document image data. Image information stored in the device 8 is displayed on a CRT 3. Then a piece of information is designated by a pointing device 6 out of those picture information stored in the device 8. Thus it is regarded that the file information is selected for said designated picture information. Thus this file information is read out of the device 7. In such a way, the image data intrinsic to each file is obtained and displayed. Thus a desired file is easily selected. |
