The invention concerns a leakage detector for installations crossed by a liquid resting on a base which is practically impervious to this liquid. This leakage detector is characterised by the fact that it comprises a pot 7 intended to be bedded in the ground 1 and made of a material impervious to the said liquid. A drain hole 14 is formed in the ground and terminates in this pot. An electric switch 31 operated by a float is mounted in this pot and can be connected to electrically operated alarm equipment. Application to the detection of leaks of oil in boiler rooms. <IMAGE>
