PURPOSE:To form a periosteal bone without forming a heterotropic bone, by combining a bone forming factor with gelatin. CONSTITUTION:A periosteal bone forming material contains gelatin and a bone forming factor. Gelatin is one kind of derived protein obtained by the heat- treatment of collagen and has no antigenicity. The bone forming factor is a substance acting on an undifferentiated mesenchymal cell extracellularly to guide the genetic substance thereof to cartilaginous tissue or osteoblast and forming bone tissue to a local region. |
