In order to determine precisely the thickness or the thickness profile of continuously produced tape-like material, the new method utilises a combination of the advantages of two methods in such a manner that, on the one hand, the mean thickness/dm is calculated from the mass flow m of the produced tape (for example of plastic) and so that, on the other hand, the thickness and the thickness profile are measured across the tape width through individual measurements by means of radiation absorption, pneumatic dynamic pressure measurement or by means of a sensing roller, and that the mean thickness/dM is in each case determined therefrom. The mean thickness/dM is not an absolute value, because environmental influences (depositions on the optics, rollers etc.) cause a zero offset. The deviations from the mean thickness/dM are, however, not influenced thereby and can therefore be transferred to the mean thickness/dm. This produces the real thickness profile. <IMAGE> |
