The invention relates to an air nozzle for weft-thread insertion in pneumatic weaving machines, with a device for deflecting the air stream issuing from the nozzle orifice. Provided at the end of the nozzle tube, on one side of the tube wall, are outlet orifices, from which a controlled secondary flow is blown out essentially transversely to the main flow. The main flow and secondary flow cooperate in such a way that the weft thread to be transported is displaced or deflected into the direction predetermined by the secondary flow.
