This disclosure relates to a post-inflater for use with a tire vulcanizer, comprising a frame and a horizontal rotatable shaft supported by said frame generally in parallel to the direction of conveyance of tires from the vulcanizer to the post-inflater, a plurality of tire holding units being provided around the shaft at angularly spaced locations. Each unit includes a pair of bead plates engagable together and with both beads of a tire to form a sealed space within the tire. One of the bead plates is movable and the other is fixed to the shaft. A tire unloader is mounted below the shaft and spaced below the fixed bead plate of the unit which is at the lowermost position, at a sufficient distance for a tire to rest on the unloader. The movable bead plate is adapted to vertically move through a hole in the unloader and move a tire against the fixed plate. The unloader is adapted to support a tire below the shaft and the units. |
