The invention relates to a method for visual display of processes which accompany connection and connection-independent processes on the display (DISPL) of a digital telecommunications terminal which is suitable for voice and/or data transmission and has a display controller (ST) as well as a plurality of subunits (SUB1, SUB2, ..., SUBn) for automatically carrying out specific processes which accompany connection or are connection-independent and are triggered by external stimuli or internal stimuli which are formed by operation of numerical, functional or name keys. The processes which are triggered by the external or internal stimuli (E) are allocated different display priorities and minimum display times. The display priority of the displayed process can be varied in terms of time after the minimum display time has elapsed and is repeatedly compared with the display priorities of processes to be displayed. After carrying out the priority comparison, the process having the highest display priority is displayed on the display (DISPL). <IMAGE>
