Mixing nozzle for mixing two gas streams

In the previously known apparatuses for mixing two gas streams, a sufficiently high mixing quality is only achieved after a relatively long mixing section. Particularly in the case of varying flow rates, the mixing is not equally satisfactory over the entire throughput range. The novel mixing nozzle is now to ensure a rapid optimal mixing after as short a mixing section as possible, even when flow rates are changing. This is achieved with a mixing nozzle composed of a jacket pipe, inner pipe and guide body, in which (a) the annular gap between jacket pipe and inner pipe and (b) the annular gap between inner pipe and guide body are adjustable by axial displacement of the inner pipe. Mixing two gas streams, in particular two reactants before the reaction, such as chlorine and methane and/or methyl chloride, for the preparation of chloromethanes.
