An electrical coil having a coil former (1) which is enclosed by two shell-core halves (3, 4) which are permanently forced together by means of two C-shaped clamping brackets (5, 5) whose bearing surfaces (7, 7) are supported against the facing free ends of the shell-core halves (3, 4), a flat latching-in moulding (8), which rests on the free end of one shell-core half (3), containing means for permanent engagement of in each case one bearing surface (7) of the C-shaped clamping brackets (5, 5). <IMAGE>
