An apparatus (13) for the sterilisation of containers (c) has a closed antiseptic tank (31) which is arranged above one or more transport paths for containers (C) and which has a housing wall (41), a ceiling wall (42) and a bottom wall (43). The housing wall (41) has one or more connecting orifices (52) in its upper region. Provided within the tank (31) are one or more antiseptic spray nozzles (33) which have at least one spray orifice (33a) directed on to the respective connecting orifice (52). Provided, furthermore, is at least one antiseptic pipe (32) with an inlet (53) at one end and with a bottom outlet (54) at the other end, the respective inlet (53) being coupled to the associated connecting orifice (52). The outlet (54) of each pipe (32) is directed on to the transport path from above. Finally, at least one heating device (59) is provided for heating the antiseptic pipe (32) or antiseptic pipes (32). <IMAGE>
