PURPOSE: To obtain a medicinal composition containing a somatostatin analog and lactic acid, having improved local tolerance, exhibiting excellent stability characteristics, and suitable for the treatment of breast cancer. CONSTITUTION: This medicinal composition contains a somatostatin analog such as a compound of formula I or II W is S, (CH2 )s [(s) is 0-2]; Y is S, (CH2 )t [(t) is 0-2]; R1 , R2 are each an alkyl, benzyl; R3 is 3-indolylmethyl; R4 is an alkyl, benzyl, etc.; R5 is an alkyl, benzyl]}, and lactic acid. The lactic acid and somatostatin analog are contained in a ratio of 1:1 to 1:40, especially 5:1 to 40:1. The composition is further compounded with a basic compound in such an amount as giving a pH of 4-4.5, and an isotonicity-adjusting agent (e.g. mannitol, sodium chloride). |
