PURPOSE:To improve picture quality by setting the number of picture elements of a solid-state image pickup element more than the number of picture elements of a display screen and setting plural adjacent picture elements of the solid-state image pickup elements as green color corresponding to the green picture elements of the display thereby utilizing the characteristic of the display device. CONSTITUTION:A color filter of a solid-state image pickup element is arranged horizontally in the unit of 4 picture elements of R, G, O, B, and B and R filters of the horizontal line are arranged at a period while being deviated by 1/2 unit each so as to be clipped by two adjacent G, G filters in the horizontal lines clipping the horizontal line in the vertical direction. On the other hand, the color filter formed to a liquid crystal display device is arranged repetitively in the horizontal direction in the unit of three picture elements of R, G, B and arranged in zigzag while deviated by a half pitch in the vertical direction so as not to be coincident with the filter color of the picture element for the picture filter color of the horizontal line before and after clipping the same picture element. Thus, the high quality display is attained by utilizing the characteristic of the display device while improving the sensitivity of the solid-state image pickup device in this way. |
