Ceramic green sheets having an advantageous isotropic distribution of the inorganic pigment can be obtained by casting and drying of a slip which contains finely divided inorganic pigment, organic solvent, polyvinylbutyral, plasticiser and dispersant, if there are used as dispersant compounds which, in their molecules, contain at least one structural unit of the formula Z, <IMAGE> in which A and B, which must be different, for either the oxyalkylene unit -C3-4H6-8O- or the oxyalkylene unit -C2H4O- and x and y, which can be identical or different, are each a number from 1 to 200. Ceramic green sheets produced according to the invention can be converted into isotropic ceramic substrates by subsequent thermal treatment and sintering.
