A four-stroke internal combustion engine has three inlet valves (3, 4, 5) for each combustion chamber (2) and an exhaust valve (6) opposed to these, the inlet valves lying on one side and the exhaust valve on the other side of a centre line (L) applied through the middle (M) of the combustion chamber (2). In a plane (E) essentially parallel to this centre line (L) a spark plug (7) is provided on both sides of the exhaust valve (6) respectively. <IMAGE> |
