The blank holder plate and/or the drawing die of the tool are supported, at least over certain areas, on pressure pieces that can be adjusted in the drawing direction, are arranged in the respective tool parts and can be actuated in the drawing direction by mechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic means. Actuation of the pressure pieces in this way makes it possible, within the limits to be considered in the drawing context, to raise or lower partial areas of the blank holder plate and/or the drawing die slightly and hence to raise the blank-holding force partially while drawing. This counteracts the occurrence of wrinkling in critical drawing areas during drawing.
