Face-grinding disc for hard materials, which consists of a support body and abrasive coating, in which bronze, copper and cobalt powder are sintered together with diamond grains of between 2 and 1,100 mu m in size, pulverulent abrasive coating being first of all pressed by means of a press plunger which has on its press surface obelisk-shaped teeth arranged in a 3 mm square grid into the shape of a square mesh, then sintered together, with the press plunger at approximately 760@C and at a pressure of approximately 1200 kg/cm<2>, to a third of the initial bulk volume, whereupon a consumed rim of the support body which delimits the filled-in powder and guides the press plunger is machined off at least to below the base level of the abrasive coating and a grid-shaped abrasive coating with a square grid, 1 mm-wide webs at the upper end and obelisk-shaped spaces located between them resulting, the coating volume of which is in a ratio of 2:1 to the space volume.
