The invention relates to a method for producing building bricks, in particular sand-lime bricks, in a press having an upper and lower ram, between which the filling mass is filled into the mould, in which method spikes penetrate into the mould through one ram so as to form cavities in the green brick. The spikes move into the mould only after it has been completely filled with filling mass. Thereafter, the rams produce the pressing force.
