The invention proposes a joining seam for connecting edges of thin-walled panels, in particular metal sheets (10, 11), which, starting from their abutment or connection line, form two strips (14, 15) which rest on one another over their surface areas or at least at the border regions. Those border regions of the two strips (14, 15) which are directed away from the abutment or connection point are provided with oppositely directed toothing arrangements (12, 13), in each case the toothing arrangement (12 or 13) on one border region (18 or 19, respectively) being at least partially bent around the other border region (19 or 18, respectively). By means of such a joining seam, panels consisting of a vast range of materials, with or without a surface coating or a surface finish can be reliably connected to one another in a simple manner without any follow-up work being necessary. <IMAGE>
