<p>PURPOSE:To improve assisting efficiency by using a motor-operated power steering device controlled by a steering force torque sensor and a variable gear ratio steering device for changing a gear ratio according to a turning angle of a handle. CONSTITUTION:A control device 6 is operated by a car velocity sensor 7 to drive a power assist motor 8, and the driving force is transmitted to a driven side power transmitting portion 11b through a worm gear 9, a worm wheel 10, a driving side power transmitting portion 11a of an electromagnetic clutch 11 to assist power for a handle shaft 2. Further, as a rack has a variable pitch, the stroke ratio to the turning angle of the handle is decreased near look to increase assisting efficiency. In this arrangement, the assisting efficiency can be improved and the motor capacity can be reduced.</p> |
